The Jackstaff kennel has enjoyed a remarkable run of success since my first introduction to this wonderful breed which started in early eighties I purchased a red dog who I called Anjacks Red Warrior he was taken up and down the country shown at all levels but was never destined to go to the top. In 1984 I purchased my first foundation bitch from Jack and Marie Kinsley, this beautiful red bitch was everything I ever wanted and as her name would suggest someone was looking down on me when Ch Jackstaff Heaven Sent came into my life. I began to show her and she quickly won her junior warrant and when mated to Ch Teutonic Warrior produced for me two puppies. Although both were shown it was the bitch who proved the biggest winner of the kennel, she is Ch Jackstaff Prima Donna. She in turn was mated to Ch Boldmore Black Sabbath and produced for me the Top Stud dog of 1990 that being Jackstaff Rustic Prince. She returned to the show ring winning a total of 5CCs all with Best of breed, she is still today the only Stafford bitch in England to win the Terrier Group at a Championship show level. Her mother Ch jackstaff Heaven Sent was mated to her grandson Jackstaff Rustic Prince and produced for me another two English Champions these were Ch Jackstaff Fatal Attraction and Ch Jackstaff Forget Me Not, along with a RCC winner Jackstaff Sovereign Boy. At this time I was also showing a daughter of Rustic Prince she too gained her title quickly she was Ch Parkstaff Special Envoy at Jackstaff. Both Heaven Sent and Special Envoy died at comparatively young ages which left a large hole in the Jackstaff kennel, so I continued to show winning CC's with Ch Ensburys little lad at Shirestaff and the beautiful red bitch Ch Staffmaster Pure Opium, who incidentally is out of a Jackstaff Bitch. In 1998 I achieved another goal by making up the first Jackstaff male he is Ch Jackstaff Fasination and on route to his title set a breed record by winning 3CCs in just 8 days, and being awarded group 2 and group 3 as well. My dog Champion Jackstaff Fasination ( Polo) has proved not only to me but many other breeders a credit to the breed, he has sired several champions and show winners here and overseas and left his mark on his progeny taking each respective breeder i feel a step in the right direction. I bred a litter in 2006 and kept a young male Jackstaff Valentino who won best puppy in breed at the City of Birmingham that year, i plan to selectively show him over the next few years as and when my work commitments allow me.
My Judging Resume : As with everything I had to start at the bottom, I first judged general society open shows and this was normally 4 or 6 classes, from there I progressed to the breed club limited shows, I was honoured to judge at The Northern Counties SBT Club in 1989. Juding only one sex I had a excellent entry of 92 dogs and overall entry of 136. In today's climate this would be about the same entry as a Championship show. From there I was asked to judge a further 5 Breed club open shows. I continued to judge general open shows as well. I was passed to award CC's in 1995 and was honoured to award CC's for the first time at my local championship show "Driffield Agricultural Society" held then at the old Doncaster race course and have now to date have judged 6 Championship shows in the UK. I have awarded one set of Green Stars in Southern Ireland, and judged one Championship show in Australia that being the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of New south Wales in 1999. I'm due to judge the Scottish Kennel Club Championship show in 2009, i am also contracted to judge the Perth Staffordshire Bull Terrier club in October of that same year in Australia.
